Teach and Empower you to feel safe, held and free in all your medical interactions.
Everyone is THE expert on their body.
SAFETY (trauma informed)
SUPPORT (caring)
FREEDOM (trust in the human being in front of me)
I decided to become a nurse when I was 14 yo because of a hug. I wanted to give people the comfort and feeling of safety I received.
Over 20 years later, creating safe spaces for healing, processing and grieving is still my favourite part of being a nurse.
I infuse this #cradlecare philosophy in every nursing interaction I have.
I love being a sounding board to process hard emotions and seasons of life.
I am extremely comfortable in uncomfortable/difficult situations. No subjects or emotions are ever off limits with me. Emotional literacy is my superpower.
I love empowering parents in making the perfect decisions for their children.
I love helping people navigate the healthcare system as a copilot. You drive and I highlight the shortcuts.
I love preventing pain during medical procedures and alleviating trauma from past painful experiences.
I love taking my time, so patients don’t feel rushed.
I love being your personal advocate, making sure all your rights, needs and values are respected.
I take great pride in making YOU feel like the VIP that you are.
Likewise, I adore following up after a consultation as we get to consolidate the work we did in our meeting. I get to answer questions that arose after the meeting.
Above all, I love creating safe cocoons where YOU are respected, validated and reassured.
I realized early on that pediatric care was different. The care that was offered in specialized pediatric settings was in fact the kind of care I went into nursing to do.
Explaining every single step to the patient and family.
Being extra gentle.
Having a special support person at the patient’s bedside.
To me, this is the GOLD STANDARD of care. The type of care that should be in every single care setting. The kind of care, that every patient deserves.
Unfortunately, that is not the case. Corners are cut. Holes are left. Parts of ourselves continue to feel tiny and scared long after the wound has been bandaged.
For years, I wondered what my specific medicine was and why I felt so at home in pediatric settings and then, this summer, in the middle of a beautiful embodiment immersion with women from all over the world, it came to me.
I take care of the parts that still feel tiny and scared long after the physical ailment is healed. I do that in children, but I also do that in adults.
So I am here, regardless of your age, of where you live in the world, to fill the gap, to bridge all the moving parts of a disease process or a trauma. I am here to make sure all of you can get to the other side feeling stronger and empowered. I am here to take care of the parts of you that feel tiny and scared.
I am your cradle nurse, and I am so honoured to meet you! Sharon xo
